The crew began setting up in town on March 20. According to WBRZ television station in Baton Rouge, the actual shooting of the movie began on Wednesday, April 24, and runs through Friday, April 26.

Donaldsville Mayor Leroy Sullivan spoke with the film crew early on and they told him the location was perfect for what they needed. They told him the town has a "historic look" that's fitting for the movie and its 1930s setting.

The movie shooting is taking place along Railroad Avenue in the city's historic downtown area.

According to Caballero Casting, which had been looking for extras for the movie, filming is also planned for other southeast Louisiana locations including New Orleans, Belle Chasse, St. Bernard, Braithwaite, Tickfaw, Hammond, Napoleonville and Thibodaux.

Jordan is working with director Ryan Coogler, who he is very familiar with and has been on set with before. Coogler wrote and directed "Black Panther" and "Creed," both of which Jordan played significant roles.

Being featured on the silver screen is nothing new for Donaldsville. The south Louisiana town has been no stranger to the movie industry over the last several years.
