Morgan Wallen Cancels Sunday Night Concert at Ole Miss After Losing His Voice
The reason? He lost his voice.
Video boards inside the Ole Miss football stadium showed a message that the singer had lost his voice and was unable to perform. It also noted that concert-goers would be refunded their money where they bought their tickets.
The message read as follows:
Ladies & Gentlemen, unfortunately, Morgan has lost his voice and is unable to perform tonight - therefore tonight's show has been cancelled. Please make your way safely to the stadium exits. Refunds for tonight's event will be available at point of purchase.
As you can imagine, fans were not too happy about the cancellation as Wallen did so minutes before he took the stage. The opening acts had each played their sets.
There were others on social media alleging that Morgan went a little too hard the night before. Although, take this with a grain of salt as he did play Ole Miss' stadium the night before.
Now, earlier this morning, Morgan released a statement regarding last night's show on his Instagram story. It read as follows:
After last night's show I started losing my voice so I spent the day resting up, talking to my doctor and working through my vocal exercises trying to get better. I really thought I'd be able to take the stage and it kills me to deliver this so close to showtime, but my voice is shot and I am unable to sing. All tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. I am so sorry, I promise you guys I tried everything I could.
Well, it looks like a lot of folks are out of some big money (even though they're getting refunds, you know many people paid big bucks to get there).
