Louisiana Powerball Results – 2 Tickets Win Big

(KMDL-FM) If memory serves me correctly, I do believe we started January of 2026 the same way we are starting February of 2026, as far as the Louisiana Lottery and the Powerball game are concerned. January started with several big wins in not only Powerball but also Lotto and Easy 5.

And last night, as we flipped the calendar from January to the new month, we received confirmation that two Louisiana Powerball tickets were among the biggest winners in Saturday's drawing in that multi-state lottery game.

We have been playing Powerball in Louisiana since March 1995. The game has been good to Louisiana players. There have been 17 jackpot winners in the state. A couple of the most recent jackpot wins happened in Lafayette and Eunice.

Speaking of increasing, Saturday's Powerball jackpot had increased to $58.6 million (estimated) for the January 31, 2026, drawing. Here is how the ping pong balls bounced out of the hopper.

The crew at Powerball informed us that no tickets sold across the game's footprint matched all the numbers needed to win that jackpot prize of $58.6 million. There were also no tickets sold that matched all five of the white balls. That means that of all the big winners in Powerball on Saturday. The largest prize awarded in that drawing was earned by a Louisiana-sold ticket.

Oddly enough, both of Louisiana's big winners last night had the same number match scenario. They both matched four of the five white ball numbers and the Powerball. By rule, the prize is $50,000. So one of those tickets earned that prize. The other player opted for Power Play on their ticket.

You can add Power Play to a Powerball ticket by spending an extra dollar. That player did, and instead of winning $50,000. They are holding a ticket worth $150,000. When you take a look at the numbers drawn. It will make sense.
