The Yard Goat Has New Rules For Late-Night Guests

The Yard Goat has recently updated its dress code and bag policy, and it's getting a lot of attention online right now.

From theadvocate.com -

Owner Rusty White said the rules are intended primarily for busier late-night events, particularly Fridays and Saturdays after 9 p.m., as the beer garden considers bringing DJs back on weekends. He said the new guidelines are intended to help manage larger late-night crowds without changing the character of the business.

The Yard Goat's new guidelines also address accessories and bags, including chains and certain small bags that guests may normally carry on a night out.

The goal appears to be creating a more polished atmosphere during late-night events, particularly when DJs are performing and larger crowds are expected.

Hoodies Are One Of The Biggest Surprises

If you're planning on visiting The Yard Goat for a late-night event, a hoodie may not be the best choice. The new guidelines specifically call out hoodies among the types of clothing that may not be allowed, depending on what time you're going.

That doesn't necessarily mean someone wearing a hoodie will be turned away every single afternoon or during every visit. The rules are primarily intended to establish expectations for the venue, particularly during busier nighttime events.

Revealing Clothing Could Also Be An Issue

The Yard Goat's guidelines also address clothing considered overly revealing.

Exactly how individual outfits are interpreted can obviously vary, but the overall message is pretty simple: guests should dress appropriately for the late night atmosphere The Yard Goat is looking to create.

There Are New Bag Guidelines

The Yard Goat also has new guidelines regarding the types of bags and accessories guests can bring inside. The policy specifically addresses certain bags, including what is described as "man bags," along with chains and other accessories.

Why Is The Yard Goat Changing Its Rules?

The timing of the changes appears to be connected to the return of late-night DJs and larger nighttime crowds. With more nightlife activity returning, management appears to be making it clear what kind of atmosphere it wants to maintain.
