New Design for Lafayette High School Finally Revealed to the Community
Discussion about Lafayette High School getting a facelift has been going around for several years, and tonight the wait is finally over. The long-awaited design plans will be revealed tonight at a town hall meeting put on by the school board. KLFY 10 spoke with Lafayette School Board member Justin Centanni who shared how much thought and effort went into the new designs for Lafayette High.
We’re going to see designs of the interior of the school. Up until now it’s really just been the exterior of the school and the site layout. We’ll get to see the interior of the new school building, a detailed construction timeline of exactly what we can expect and when over the next couple of years
They hope to restore the heart of Lafayette High School and preserve the 60 years of history that lies within its walls. In order to better serve the students and faculty of Lafayette High they pooled all 2,000 students and teachers to get their feedback on what they would like to see and how life on campus could be improved.
We poled all 2,000 students at Lafayette High, we poled all of the teachers to see what they wanted, and how the facility can best meet the needs of education in the twenty-first century. We had a steering committee made up of alumni and administrators at Lafayette High to make sure that we were capturing the soul of Lafayette High, and not making drastic changes as we move into a new phase
Now the school board is ready to share what they have in store for the high school and its community. Centanni told KLFY 10 that the goal is to have everything completed and ready for students and faculty by the spring of 2025.
