Opelousas, Louisiana Chick-fil-A Now Open—Here’s How They Are Giving Back To The Community
Chick-fil-A's brand-new establishment in Opelousas, Louisiana is not just about serving delicious food but also about giving back to the community.
The restaurant opened its doors early Thursday morning adding to the existing lineup of Chick-fil-A spots serving Lafayette. They announced the location's grand opening was officially announced by Chick-fil-A on social media.
The Advocate reported that as part of its inaugural celebration, Chick-fil-A is making a significant impact on the local community. They have begun their journey by donating $25,000 to Feeding America, a move aimed at aiding local partners in the Opelousas area to fight against hunger.
Moreover, Chick-fil-A Opelousas is recognizing the efforts of 100 local heroes who have made remarkable contributions to the community. These individuals are being honored with a gift of free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year as a token of appreciation for their impactful work.
In addition to job creation, with an anticipated 100 new positions opening up for local residents, Chick-fil-A is committed to contributing positively to the community. Camille Cook, a Louisiana native and the local owner-operator, is dedicated to this cause. Her Chick-fil-A journey began as a team member at the Mall of Louisiana branch in Baton Rouge and has evolved into her role as a community leader in Opelousas.
Cook's vision for the Opelousas Chick-fil-A includes actively participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program. This initiative focuses on redirecting surplus food from the restaurant to support local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks, and nonprofits. With over 23 million meals already created through similar donations across the United States and Canada, this program stands as a testament to Chick-fil-A's commitment to community well-being.
Cook strongly believes in fostering growth opportunities for her team at Chick-fil-A Opelousas, emphasizing values such as integrity, excellence, and continuous improvement. Through these values, she aims to empower her team to create exceptional experiences for guests while making a lasting positive impact on the community.
