Travis Kelce Shares True Feelings on NFL’s Coverage of Girlfriend Taylor Swift

Kansas City Chiefs' star Travis Kelce voiced his opinion on Wednesday regarding the NFL TV coverage, expressing concerns over the excessive on-screen presence of pop icon Taylor Swift during recent Chiefs' games.

Swift, who was present at MetLife Stadium last Sunday, witnessed the Chiefs' triumphant win against the New York Jets. The camera, however, seemed to be more focused on Swift than on the game itself, showcasing her suite a staggering 17 times. Travis Kelce's reaction to this was quite candid, saying, "That's like once a drive."

While Kelce did acknowledge the thrill of having the cameras pan over to celebrities during games – Swift was accompanied by stars such as Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, and Hugh Jackman – he also felt that the emphasis might be a tad excessive. "It's fun [seeing celebrities], but at the same time, they're overdoing it, especially in my situation," Kelce remarked.

Ian Trombetta, the NFL's senior vice president of social, influencer, and content marketing, responded to the observations stating that the league aims to maintain a "celebratory posture." He believes the amplified attention towards Swift was largely driven by the immense public interest in her personal life, coupled with Kelce's prominence.

Jason Kelce, Travis' brother and Philadelphia Eagles player, pointed out a contrast between NFL and NBA games. According to him, while NBA often features celebrities, the focus remains predominantly on the game. This didn't seem to be the case in the past two Chiefs' matches where Swift, the Grammy-winning artist, was in attendance.

Travis Kelce humorously ended his podcast comments with a note of caution for those in the spotlight, "You never know, you could get caught throwing a big ol’ cheeseburger in and look like an idiot. There’s certain things, you don’t want to be on TV at all times.”
