Every child in the state of Texas wants to grow up quickly.

After all, they want to do all things the adults do! Like going to bed whenever they want, or eating anything for dinner. That, and of course, they can buy any item they desire. But that of course takes time.

Overall, as a young Texan grows, more opportunities are provided to them. One of those involves sitting in a vehicle. Many kids wish to sit in the front passenger seat of the car.

As revealed by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Texas Department Of Public Safety has the answer many parents can tell their children. A Texas child that isn't eight and is under the height of 4'9 must be in child safety that is considered suitable for them. If the child is over 4'9, the seat is not required.

Per the wording of Texas DPS:

"When a child reaches their 8th birthday - no matter the height, it is legal for the child to use only the adult safety belt in the passenger vehicle."

So if a child wants to sit in the front seat of a car, they must be over eight years old and 5'0 inches tall to do so.
