Lafayette, LA (KPEL News) - Babies are expensive. The price tag has only gone up with inflation outpacing standard wage increases, and Louisiana parents could certainly use some help. All parents have been there. You reach for the bag of diapers and find that you are down to the last one. Imagine having to scrounge to find the money to purchase something that's necessary to keep your child clean.

A Lafayette non-profit is stepping up, yet again, to request your help in providing diapers to parents who may need a little help.

For the 9th year, Love of People is assisting with the Williams Bros Diaper Drive (Formerly Julian's Diaper Drive). The drive not only provides essential resources like diapers (children, adults, wipes, and puppy pads) to families who may be struggling financially but also creates a platform for teaching children about the importance of hard work and compassion.

By actively participating in the drive, children like Julian and Issac can witness the positive impact their efforts have on the lives of others, fostering empathy, and teaching them the value of helping those in need.

They ask donors for children & adult diapers/wipes, as well as puppy pads and monetary donations through July 17th. Physical donations can be made at the following Lafayette locations starting on Friday, June 7th:

  • Lafayette Visitor’s Center Music Academy of Acadiana
  • RISE Physical Therapy & Sports Lab
  • Hub City Ford
  • McMillan’s Pub
  • St. Barnabas Episcopal Church
  • Central Pizza
  • News15 (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
  • Deano’s on Bertrand

Monetary donations can be made at www.loveofpeople.org.

The Lafayette group will also allow families to pick up donated items on Diaper Drive Distribution Day, July 20th from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM at a location to be announced in the coming weeks.

Families can receive one box of diapers while supplies last. The group will also accept any walk up donations on that day.
