Lafayette Man Gets 6+ Years for Child Pornography Transportation
24-year-old Jared Tyler Olivier of Lafayette has been sentenced to 80 months in federal prison, followed by 10 years probation, on one count of transportation of child pornography.
According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Western District of Louisiana, Olivier admitted to using a Tumblr account to upload a file containing an image of a prepubescent male engaging in a sexual act and to viewing images and videos of child pornography on the account.
Investigators say they also found approximately 39 videos of prepubescent and post pubescent males engaged in various sexual acts on a Dropbox account used by Olivier. Some of the videos contained boys approximately three years old. Investigators say Olivier admitted that he transported child pornography from a computer to his Dropbox account in January and February 2018.
Olivier will also be required to register as a sex offender upon release.
