Lafayette Native Rising To Top Of National Music Competition
TownSquare Media's Taste of Country Hometown Risers competition is giving a Lafayette native a chance to take a music hobby to a national audience.
The Hub City's Chase Dugas is a finalist in the nation-wide annual music competition. His original track "Ragin Cajun" serves as his entry for the competition.
You can help Chase "rise" to the top by voting for him on the Taste of Country and 973thedawg.com Web sites by clicking this link. Voting ends tonight (Monday, June 18) at 10:59 p.m. CST.
Channeling generations of aspiring musicians, Chase bought his first guitar for $100 at a local pawn shop about five years ago. He said he learned guitar by watching YouTube videos. His songwriting experience began in an unlikely setting--among the multi-talented crowd of his fellow profession stuntmen.
