Lafayette Parish Residents Approve Airport Tax Proposal

A one-cent sales tax to fund improvements to the terminal at the Lafayette Regional Airport. That's what voters were faced with Saturday.

The tax, which was pushed parish wide by various leaders, was written with a definite start date and end date (April 1, 2015 to November 30, 2015) and writers of the legislation were very specific in the fact that this bill could only be used to fund the improvements to the airport.
