The Acadiana Wreckin’ Rams are heading back to the Allstate Sugar Bowl/LHSAA Prep Classic, after defeating Zachary, 9-3 in a Class 5A semifinal thriller on Friday night.

Acadiana, who will be making a return trip to the Mercedes-Banz Superdome in New Orleans, will play for the state crown on Saturday night, December 13, against Destrehan, at 7 o'clock.

This past Friday, Catholic High-New Iberia fell in the select Division III state title game, dropping a close 27-24 decision to Calvary Baptist.

In the non-select brackets, the five state title games are set.

In Class 5A, 15th-seeded Acadiana will meet 4th-seeded Destrehan on Saturday night, December 13, at 7 pm.

 

In Class 4A, #2 Neville will face #5 Warren Easton for the state crown on Saturday afternoon, December 13, at 3:30 pm.

 

In Class 3A, top-seeded Livonia will square off with 3rd-seeded Amite for honors on Saturday, December 13, at noon.

 

In Class 2A, top-seeded Many will tangle will #2 Kinder on Friday at 8 pm.

 

In Class A, top-seeded Mangham will battle 2nd-seeded Haynesville for supremacy on Friday afternoon at 4:30.

 

In the select brackets, four state titles were decided last Friday.

In Division I, 6th-seeded Jesuit won the state crown, defeating top-seeded John Curtis, 17-14.

 

In Division II, #1 University Lab took home the state title, downing #7 Parkview Baptist, 46-32.

 

In Division III, 2nd-seeded Calvary Baptist took home honors, after squeaking past top-seeded Catholic High-New Iberia, 27-24.

 

Finally, in Division IV, the state crown went to #6 Ouachita Christian, who defeated #5 Southern Lab, 52-6
