The Lafayette Parish school system is planning to put out a call for bids for the expansion of Green T. Lindon Elementary School.

The bidding for the project could go out in the next two to four weeks, as more space is needed for the school.

Kyle Bordelon, the district's facility planning director, says the goal is to have the first phase of the project done by August of next year.

The first part of the nine million dollar project would be the construction of classrooms, administrative offices and a room for physical education.

The second phase of the project would include another classroom building and the expansion of the cafeteria.

The third and final phase of the project would be a new parking lot.
