Lafayette Police Deem SLCC Campus Safe After Weapon Complaint

South Louisiana Community College on Devalcourt Street has been deemed safe after Lafayette Police officers responded to a report of a weapon on the campus Tuesday morning, SLCC spokeswoman Christine Payton confirms to KPEL.

Officers are investigating the report as it is illegal to possess a weapon on school grounds. Reportedly, the student had left the campus by the time security received the report.
