UPDATE: 40-year-old Jeremy Todd Baham of Lafayette is dead after he allegedly confronted two responding Lafayette Police officers during a disturbance call. State Police spokesman Trooper Thomas Gossen says the incident happened at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Kaliste Saloom last night. Trooper Gossen says the subject approached the two officers and a physical confrontation ensued which lead to him being shot. Troopers are investigating.

UPDATE: KLFY-TV reports that the Lafayette Parish Corner's Office was called to the scene of the shooting. Lafayette Police say no officer has died as a result fo the shooting, but an officer responding to the disturbance was injured.

The Lafayette Police Department is currently on the scene of an officer-involved shooting.

According to KATC-TV 3, the incident is on Kaliste Saloom and the road is closed at S. Beadle Road in Lafayette.

Sources say the shooting happened at the Cypress Bend Townhomes. Drivers are urged to avoid the area.

KATC reports that Louisiana State Police is on the scene and that they will be taking over the investigation.
