Today is the last day for offshore workers suffering financial hardships because of the federal deepwater drilling moratorium to apply for a second round of assistance grants through the Gulf Coast Restoration and Protection Foundation. Mukul Verma with the Baton Rouge Area Foundation says the program covers a sizable group of workers.
The amount of the grants will run from 3-thousand to 30-thousand dollars The money for the grants comes from a separate pool of cash than the 20- billion dollar recovery grant. You can get more information at  (866) 577-8141 or apply online at www.gcrpf.org.
