The medical community across the country is being stretched to its limits because of the coronavirus threat. The effects of the virus on the medical community have prompted to Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals to issue an order regarding medical procedures.

LDHH has ordered that all medical and surgical procedures that can be safely postponed for 30 days be pushed back. The order covers the time between March 19th and April 21st. The order could also be extended by the department if it is deemed necessary.

If you have such a procedure scheduled during that time frame you will need to contact your medical team for advice on what is best for you. The Louisiana Department of Health order applies to all licensed healthcare facilities and professionals in the state.
