Louisiana Fifth Worst State in Nation for Drivers — Texas Ranked Even Worse
Sorry, Louisiana, but apparently we're not very good drivers -- at least according to Car Insurance Comparison. The only good news for us is that Texas drivers are even worse. The interactive map above will give you the full details.
Louisiana ranked as the fifth worst state in America for driving, based on criteria like fatalities per 100 million miles traveled, drunk driving, speeding, failure to obey citations and careless driving. Texas ranked fourth. Mississippi ranked 10th.
The worst statistic for us was failure to obey citations, which includes seat belt tickets, traffic signal citations and drivers with no licenses -- we ranked first in the nation for that. We had the sixth-highest fatality rate per 100 million miles traveled. We ranked seventh in careless driving.
Montana was the worst state in America, followed by a tie for South Carolina and New Mexico.
