Louisiana Meth Dealer Accidentally Texts A Deputy About A Drug Deal
Sometimes the criminals make it easier for law enforcement officials to do their jobs. Let's face it, the police will always catch the bad guys, it's just easier when the bad guys catch themselves.
Such is the case of a Pierre Part man who was ready to deal some crystal meth. He was obviously looking to cash in on his product and was sending out text messages to potential customers.
One of those potential customers just happened to be an Assumption Parish Sheriff’s deputy. As you might imagine the deputy was very interested in what the dealer had to offer but not for the reasons the dealer might suspect.
So the deputy contacted the narcotics section and a sting operation was organized and when he showed up to deliver the narcotics section arrested him.
That's the story in a nutshell as told by Commander Lonny Cavalier to the Louisiana Radio Network.
Authorities arrested 39-year-old Dwayne Paul Hebert and charged him accordingly in connection with the incident.
He’s charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamines and two counts resisting an officer, as well as, two counts of possession of firearms in the presence of controlled dangerous substances.
Cavalier went on to say that things like this don't happen that often.
Has not happened before in all of my years in law enforcement, it’s not happened and it’s just, I guess you could say a fatal error on his part.
I guess when you do bad things, bad things will happen to you. Let's just call it Karma and stupidity. They usually go hand in hand.
