LSU Defeats Missouri, 77-71

The LSU Tigers captured an SEC home win on Wednesday night, defeating the Missouri Tigers, 77-71, at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Missouri led, 29-26, at the 5:35 mark of the first half, before LSU went on a 12-4 run over the remainder of the half, to take a 38-33 lead into the locker room at half time.
Missouri began the second half, going on a 14-5 run over the first 4:12, to grab a four-point lead, their biggest of the game, 47-43, with 15:48 remaining.
LSU answered right back, with a 10-2 run of their own, and held a four-point lead, 53-49, at the 11:49 mark.
Later, with LSU holding a 64-62 advantage, Jabari Brown nailed a three--pointer, giving Missouri their first lead in over 10:00, 65-64, with 3:40 remaining.
LSU responded with six-unanswered points however, courtesy of two free throws by Jordan Mickey, and lay-ups by Mickey and Shavon Coleman, to make it 70-65, LSU, with 1:18 to go.
From there, LSU iced the game at the free-throw line, going 5-6 down the stretch, to capture the six-point home win, their third league victory of the year
LSU out-shot Missouri from the field, 44%-39%, and also finished with a 43-38 rebound advantage.
LSU was led by Coleman, who finished with 19 points, while Mickey finished with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
In a losing cause for Missouri, Brown had a game-high 28 points.
With the victory, LSU improved to 12-5, overall, and 3-2 in SEC play, while Missouri slipped to 14-4, overall, and 2-3 in league play.
