State wildlife officials say a 41-year-old man has been accused of shooting at animals from his pickup truck with two teenage boys at his side.

Kenneth W. Gordon, of Holden, was cited Oct. 28 for cruelty to animals, hunting from a moving vehicle, discharging a firearm on a public road and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles.

A wildlife and fisheries agent investigating a night hunting complaint stopped Gordon about 10 p.m. on state Highway 1036 in Livingston Parish. The agent says he found two freshly killed cats in the bed of the pickup truck. Officials say two boys — ages 14 and 15 — were in the truck with Gordon along with a .22 caliber rifle and a spotlight.

If convicted of the charges, Gordon faces fines and jail.
