Man Arrested For Aggravated Rape
On Thursday December 9, 2010 Juvenile Detectives with the Lafayette Sheriff’s Office arrested 43 year old Mark Edmund Braun of Lafayette for Aggravated Rape. On Thursday December 2, 2010 Juvenile Detectives received a complaint from a family member of a 5 year old female, stating they believed the girl had been molested within the last several months. An investigation began and after gathering evidence Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Mark Braun who was an acquaintance of the victim and her family. Braun was arrested without incident and is incarcerated at the Lafayette Parish Correctional Facility with a $500,000 bond.
