Aggravated Rape

42 year old James Rusty Aucoin of Jennings is jailed in the Jeff Davis Parish Jail charged with seven counts of aggravated rape.

Police say the victim was jogging near the Lake Charles Civic Center when she was severely beaten and sexually assaulted.

Pete is being held in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

The victim described the suspect as a black male, about 6 feet tall with a slim build, dark complexion, short black hair and brown eyes.

A Lafayette man was arrested on attempted murder and rape charges after he allegedly followed his ex-girlfriend to her home and then forced his way inside.

A child rape victim can testify against his alleged attacker, according to a Lafayette Parish judge.

Police say their investigation yielded sufficient evidence to support the arrest and charge against the man.

State Police believe David Shelton had inappropriate sexual contact with a juvenile girl.
