LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) -- A Maurice man has pleaded guilty to counterfeiting $100 bills, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley said 31-year-old Brandon Landry admitted that between August and September of 2012, he counterfeited the bills.

A search of his home at the time he was arrested turned up a number of uncut sheets of printed $100 bills, Finley said. Six of the serial numbers were linked to counterfeit bills used throughout Acadiana, Finley said.

In total, Finley said Landry is responsible for counterfeiting 59 $100 bills.

Landry faces up to 20 years in prison and five years of supervised release.
