There will be some lengthy road construction coming to one Lafayette street starting Tuesday of next week.

According to officials with the Lafayette Consolidated Government, Polly Lane will be closed for around nine months.

In the press release, officials say that not all of Polly Lane will be closed, but only the section of Polly Lane between Verot School Road and Gathright Street.

The project will take many months to complete because of the list of things that the contractor will be doing for that section of roadway. The following is a list of the things they will be installing:

  • Street lights
  • Sidewalks
  • Subsurface drainage

This is not the first time that a section of Polly Lane has had extensive work. This is Phase 2 of this project where work is scheduled for enhancing the look of the street and widening the roadway. The work begins this Tuesday, June 2, and likely won't be completed until at least January or February of 2021.
