Newt Gingrich’s Job Creation Claim

Newt Gingrich has made the claim that he has helped to create 27 million jobs.  He says he was able to do that during his time in Congress from the Reagan years all the way up to his time as Speaker of the House.

Is this accurate or does this raise an eyebrow?

Also, Jake Tapper with ABC News says that Democrats think the GOP race could stretch into June.  Is that a good thing for Democrats or is it good for Republicans?
