Northside High School was on lock down this afternoon as a student was arrested with a gun on campus.

Lafayette Parish School System personnel said NHS administrators received a tip that there was a gun on campus around 12:10 p.m.

Lafayette Police and the school's resource officers responded to the tip while the campus was put on lock down.

Upon investigation, a student was arrested and disciplined according to school district policy and Louisiana law.

No students, faculty or staff members were harmed during this incident.
