The One Acadiana economic development organization is adding a new face to its research-gathering team with the hire of Michael Hare as vice president of policy initiatives.

Hare will lead the policy initiatives team to provide research and analysis on One Acadiana’s policy goals and strategic initiatives. Some of those issues include PreK-12 education, transportation infrastructure, government reform, workforce development, small business and innovation.

He formerly served as deputy director for U.S. Rep. Charles Boustany. As Deputy District Director, Hare focused on trade and agriculture policy, as well as on coastal restoration, transportation, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and other federal issues.

“Michael not only brings an impressive amount of experience to the One Acadiana team, he brings a deep love for our region,” stated Jason El Koubi, President & CEO of One Acadiana. “His detailed knowledge of policy issues and commitment to service have distinguished him as a respected community leader."

Hare received a bachelor of arts degree in political science and economics from Louisiana State University. During his undergraduate study he focused on international relations, trade and comparative politics.  In 2002, Hare continued his studies at American University in Washington, D.C., where he received a master’s degree in U.S. Foreign Policy.
