An Opelousas man was arrested Friday after beating and kidnapping a woman from her Broussard Street home.

Opelousas Police told our news partner KATC, 21-year-old Daryn Pryor went to the female victim's residence to speak to her, but she refused. Pryor then allegedly climbed through a window, broke down the door to the bedroom where she was hiding and dragged her outside.

He then allegedly beat her and threw the woman into his vehicle and drove around for nearly an hour before hearing police were looking for him. Police arrested him two hours later at his home.

Pryor was booked into the Opelousas City Jail for home invasion, simple kidnapping and domestic abuse battery.
