The Peace Walk in downtown Lafayette started with a prayer and it ended with a VERY POWERFUL message by a young man named Roland Lewis.

The march started at 5pm in downtown Lafayette and it ended in Parc San Souci. There, a young man—who says he was once incarcerated—delivered one of the most powerful messages I have heard since the protesting has started around the U.S.

Lewis explained what it takes to unite and he encouraged all to come together. His message was delivered with force; but more importantly, it was delivered with sincerity.

He even noted that his sister is a police officer and he fears for her safety. All that he wants—and what many want that attended this walk—is peace.

Every young American should listen to what this young man had to say, and realize that the message came from right here in our backyard.

There are no reports of any incidents during the peace walk, and we applaud all that came out for this powerful ceremony. Yes, Lafayette may have just shown the rest of our country how things are done.
