Perkins Founded Guilty

A Calcasieu Parish jury found Bryce Perkins guilty yesterday of second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a young Marine at a party the weekend of July 4th, 2009.  The victim, 20-year-old Daniel Gueringer, was home on leave when he was shot July 5th.  The defense argued unsuccessfully that Perkins fired a handgun in his attempt to keep others from beating a friend of his and therefore was justifiable.
