Usually, when the lights go out it's totally unexpected. That's because electric service across our state is usually very reliable. However, this time the lights won't be going out because of a storm or a squirrel on a transformer. This time the lights will be going out so your power service can be even better.

Officials with Jefferson Davis Electric Cooperative have announced a planned outage for some of their customers. That outage is scheduled to begin at 10 pm on Monday, August 5th (Tonight). The planned outage should last about four hours.

The outage was deemed necessary so repairs could be made at the Tupper Substation. According to the utility, the customers that will be affected are those located North of Elton, East of Elton, West of Elton, and South of Elton and Coushatta Tribe.
