Rep. Sherman Mack Pushes Drug Testing For Welfare Recipients

Rep. Sherman Mack, sponsor of House Bill 380 appeared  on Mornings With Ken & Bernie today to discuss the bill.  Mack said the bill will reduce aid payments to those who are addicted to drugs or alcohol and help them recover. A minority in the legislature say the bill discriminates against welfare recipients but Mack says,

"State workers even school teachers have to take drug tests so I don't understand claims of discrimination.  I think the people who receive the money should be required to pass drug screens as do the people who provide the money."
