Saints Likely To Begin 2017 Season Without Max Unger
The New Orleans Saints have suffered a setback in the offseason.
Another report states that Unger had surgery over the weekend.
A two-time Pro Bowler, Unger is expected to miss five months of football activities.
If the timetable for his recovery is accurate, Unger would miss at least the first month of the season.
The 31-year old Unger, who played the first 6 years of his career with the Seattle Seahawks, was acquired by the Saints prior to the 2015, along with a first-round draft choice, in exchange for tight end Jimmy Graham.
A native of Hawaii, Unger has appeared in 31 games over his two years with the Saints, all as a starter.
