Fox News has learned that Former Pennsylvania Senator and Republican Presidential Candidate Rick Santorum has decided to drop out of the race for President.  In a press conference, Santorum talked about his memories of the campaign and all that supported him.  The former Senator said he and his family made the decision over the weekend to end his campaign, but vowed to keep fighting for the issues that he said his campaign represented.  Santorum added, "This game is a long way from over.  We are going to fight to make sure we defeat Barack Obama."

Santorum won the state of Louisiana just 3 weeks ago in overwhelming fashion, beating Governor Romney by a whopping margin of 23 points.  That victory did little to impress the rest of the country, with Romney picking up recent wins in Wisconsin, Maryland and Washington D.C.

This move will clear the road for Mitt Romney, already the front runner in the race, to claim the Republican nomination.  That will give him the right to go head-to-head with Barack Obama in the fall.
