Scott Man Arrested For Raping 10-Year-Old Child

Back in May of this year, a young female child was taken to a hospital complaining about her stomach hurting.

The 10-year-old girl was examined by a nurse who completed a sexual assault kit on her.  Once finished, Scott Police sent that evidence to the Acadiana Crime Lab.

Last week Scott Police say they got enough probable cause to arrest 35-year-old Michael Jason Burks for aggravated rape.

Burks was then booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
