Senate Set To Send Farm Bill To Obama
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate is expected today to pass a nearly $100 billion-a-year farm bill that the House approved last week.
The bill would provide a financial cushion for farmers who face unpredictable weather and market conditions.
And it cuts the food stamp program by about 1 percent. House Republicans had pushed to trim the bill even further and partisan disagreements had stalled it for more than two years.
