With the passing of Shirley Temple Black on Monday I have to wonder if any of the current Disney type stars will live past their 30th birthdays and what will their legacy be?

Her acting career started at age 3 and by the time she was 10 she was earning an unprecedented $50,000 per movie.  She was a box office smash until she retired at the age of 22.  Cyrus and many of her contemporaries are still in their prime but what will that prime be remember as?

Shirley Temple Black went on to be a mother, diplomat and the first female Chief of Protocol of the United States.

Will Miley Cyrus be able to 'twerk' her way into the history books as an elder states-person?  Highly doubtful I think.

What is it with this young actors and actresses that makes them think they must abandon their innocence to make it as adults?  With examples like Shirley Temple Black and others of her generation proving that even the clean-cut types can make it in this world you would think Miley and others would get a clue.

I guess Miley Cyrus and others of her generation getting a clue would be too much to ask.  Don't even get me started on Justin Bieber!

With the passing of Shirley Temple I guess 'The Good Ship Lollipop' has sailed for the last time.  Too bad.  The world could use some of Shirley's innocence about now.
