Sixty soliders of the Louisiana National Guard have now been activated to respond to flooding in the Lake Charles area.

While prepositioning of equipment and other resources began last week, these sixty National Guardsmen are the first to be activated in response to the Southwestern portion of the state.

Active Duty orders were given to the sixty who are part of the 3rd Battalion of the 156 Infinantry under the 256th.

The boat teams are ready and activiated, and the Louisiana National Guard stands ready to assist in any other areas that they are called out to in Southwest Louisiana or Acadiana.
