Lafayette Police will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint within the incorporated limits of Lafayette on Friday, June 19.

LPD spokesman Sgt. Wayne Griffin says officers will be targeting impaired drivers under the influence of alcohol or any other dangerous substance and will respond with zero tolerance to drivers who violate this.

"Designate a driver if you intend to drink," says Sgt. Griffin. "Not doing so could result in costly fines and serious jail time."

Officers will be set up between 9:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m.
