The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Tuesday, June 16th.

There are now 47,706 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. That is 534 more reported cases since yesterday. This includes a backlog of 148 cases, the majority of which date back to mid-April.

Numbers show that there are 588 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized - 20 more than yesterday.

76 patients are on ventilators across the state. That is 1 fewer patient since yesterday

The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 2,930, an increase of 24 since yesterday.

As of today, 37,017 COVID-19 patients are presumed to have recovered. That's 3,113 more recovered patients since last week.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Acadiana region is 2,903 with 210 deaths reported.

Lafayette Parish: 1,243 cases, 32 deaths

 

Iberia Parish: 476 cases, 42 deaths

 

St. Martin Parish: 381 cases, 28 deaths

 

St. Mary Parish: 360 cases, 33 deaths

 

St. Landry Parish: 379 cases, 55 deaths

 

Acadia Parish: 604 cases, 32 deaths

 

Evangeline Parish: 93 cases, 1 death

 

Vermilion Parish: 85 cases, 5 deaths
