Some state-licensed casinos are falling short of quotas for employment that were set when they first got their licenses. Numbers from the state Gaming Control Board show that some casinos failed to hit job goals over the past year. Wade Duty, with the Casinos Association of LA., says thegoals were set back in 1993, and don't reflect the current economy.  Duty says hardly any home or business can still operate under conditions set 20 years ago. He cites just one example of technology lowering staffing needs; ticket-in, ticket-out gaming...: (He says gaming companies are seeking to re-align those hiring goals, with the Gaming Control Board's approval.)  State Gaming Control Board Chairman Dane Morgan says jobs goals are being missed, but also goals casinos set for themselves for local purchasing and contracts with female and minority businesses. He says the Board will work with the industry to adopt new, more realistic benchmarks.  Morgan says, if casinos work to re-align those goals and meet them, no one is at risk of losing their license...but...:(The Casinos Association is working to submit new goals to the Board in March.)
