The State Mineral and Energy Board collected about $2.2 million during its January sale of petroleum leases on state and local government property.

The state awarded 22 leases covering about 5,200 acres. The leases are in Acadia, Allen, DeSoto, Jefferson, Lafourche, Red River, St. Mary and Vermilion parishes. Three of the tracts are in northern Louisiana, while 19 are in southern parishes.

Nine of the leases are offshore.

For the state fiscal year beginning July 1, the state has collected $23.8 million in lease payments.
