Jindal’s State Prison Sale Nixed

Governor Bobby Jindal's push to sell and privatize three prisons in the state drew an apparent death knell yesterday.The House Committee on Appropriations voted 13 to 12 to involuntarily defer House Bill 545.  Jindal wants to sell the prisons as a way to erase red ink from the next fiscal year budget.  He says he's not giving up on the proposal.
