Suspect Arrested In Connection With Mandeville Officer Shooting

A 21-year-old man is behind bars in connection with the shooting that killed one Mandeville Police Officer and left the other officer injured after a tragic traffic stop Friday afternoon.

The fallen officer has since been identified as Mandeville Police Captain Vincent Liberto Jr.

Louisiana State Police say that Covington native Mark Spicer has been booked into jail on a count of first-degree murder of a police officer, attempted first-degree murder of a police officer, aggravated flight from an officer and possession of stolen property (firearm).
