Swaggart Building-Hotel

BATON ROUGE — Plans are under way to convert an unfinished dormitory near evangelist Jimmy Swaggart's campus into a 256-room hotel. Developer Mike Wampold said he has the funds for the $42.5 million project, which will include 12,000 square feet of meeting space and an 8,000-square-foot ballroom. Wampold said he plans to open the hotel in August 2011.
