Tex-Mex Restaurant Shares Humor and Joy Through Marquee Messages
The coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc on the world and many people struggle to find ways to smile these days. Living life in lockdown is not fun and anyone who spreads joy these days is golden to their communities. That is exactly what this Austin-based restaurant is doing. Spreading joy. And it isn’t costing them a thing. El Arroyo has become an internet sensation for their very creative and funny messages they are displaying on their marquee sign outside of their establishment.
El Arroyo is a Tex-Mex restaurant that has had the marquee sign since the restaurant started in 1975 and is an essential part of their character. Visitors always expect to see a new message on the marquee and they know it will always give them a good laugh as it always makes light of different topics. Obviously, the coronavirus pandemic has so many down that they are trying to find some solace in the lockdown and know people need something to make them smile.
Not just the locals are enjoying the offbeat and witty messages, but everyone all over the world is because they have won they are Instagram famous now. How can you not laugh with relatable messages like, “My hands are consuming more alcohol than my mouth,” and “I need to practice some social distancing from the fridge.”
With the messages becoming so popular, they decided to sell gift items with their marquee messages on them. Items like hand sanitizer, coasters, magnets, and more. You can purchase them here.
