Three Spellers From Louisiana Left In Contest
This morning, Alyssa Walker of Youngsville, failed to spell the word Seoul correctly, and thus, she was eliminated from competition in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
She spelled the South Korean capital as S-A-H-O-U-L leading to her elimination in the tournament according to our news partners at KATC.
Three Louisiana contestants remain in the competition including:
- Cal Alexander of Shreveport
- Devika Dua of Ruton
- Isaac Phillips of Ponchatoula
The two other spellers from Louisiana, Bre'Ann Washington of Monroe and Zalia Avant-garde of Harvery were also eliminated from the competition this morning.
The final round of competition is scheduled to be aired on ESPN tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock.
Competition continues with the final spellers going against one another tomorrow night.
