Whether you like it or not the nation will be springing ahead one hour this Saturday night at 2:00am.

Some people say they get robbed of an hour of sleep but the good news is you can make it up with we 'fall back' later this year.

You could stay up or wake at 2:00am to set your clock ahead but it makes more sense to set your clock ahead one hour when you turn in Saturday.  While setting your clocks fire officials across the country say it is a perfect time to change the batteries in your smoke detector as well.  If you follow this battery changing schedule you'll have fresh batteries every six months.

The nationwide switch doesn't affect people in some U.S. territories, most parts of Arizona and all of Hawaii as those areas do not observe daylights saving.

Remember set your clocks and change those smoke detector batteries.
